Institutional Values and Social Responsibilities
“Green Practices in Campus in Higher Education Institutions”
Humans have contributed to global warming which has led to catastrophic climate change in many parts of the world. People have to work for the benefit of the planet and reduce emission in whatever way they can. Colleges have a responsibility to instill green lifestyle among the young and impressionable students by undertaking green moves which can help to lower the global temperature. Educational Institutions are expected to play their role in order to save the environment for current and future generations.Campuses all around the globe have been finding ways to go green. With various environmental issues, like climate change, pollution, habitat destruction and filled landfills, students everywhere want to make the earth a healthier and better place to live. Sustainability goes beyond reducing, reusing and recycling, although those three practices are still essential. Going green involves ensuring that future generations have the same, or better, opportunities you have today, from an environmental, social and economic position. Students, professors and leaders on college campuses can make a significant difference in both their campus communities and communities beyond by starting to make small changes in habits in their day-to-day lives. Green initiatives are set of actions undertaken by a firm to minimize the negative environmental effects associated with the entire life cycle of its products or services. Higher Education Institutions are expected to be responsible for a significant influence through its teaching, research and operational activities over future leaders. HEIs campus greening initiatives are becoming a proxy indicator in near future that can make a difference in their ranking to become a global leader in sustainability and green initiatives of HEIs are widely spread around the globe.

Green Universities and Clean Universities
The tagline for 2021 World Environment Day is "Re-imagine, Recreate, Restore," which emphasizes the importance of ecosystem restoration. The United Nations is attempting to draw attention to the urgent need to repair the planet's ecosystems. The importance of academic institutions is consistently emphasized in all conversations linked to the environment. The field of Education can play a significant role in doing research and putting out real efforts to protect and restore ecosystems. In 2020, the University Grants Commission (UGC) suggested a sustainable campus framework to lay out the guidelines for creating a green and sustainable campus environment for Indian higher education institutions, taking into account the afore mentioned issues and current worldwide trends (HEIs). A Green Campus is a location where environmentally conscious activity and education coexist and where ecologically conscious principles are demonstrated via practice (NEIWPCC 2019).The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 put forth by the United Nations are essential guiding principles to overcome these difficulties. The important question that arises when we develop the action plan is: Can sensitivity to the achievable, sustainable goals be taught? Can higher education institutions (HEIs) contribute to the effort to make the planet more livable for our offspring and grandchildren? This Paper focuses on the role of different stakeholders in Higher Education to take initiatives to make their campuses green and clean .The paper shall discuss some case studies to understand the process of making Green and Clean Universities.

As a mutual relationship between Education and Society cannot be denied. Educational Institutions are only platform through which we can orient and create awareness among our future generation from initial stage itself in schools. From a decade numerous initiatives are being taken by Educational institutions in form of various activities like formation of Eco Clubs, Green campaigns , Environment Drives, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and many more and efforts in this form have always result into positive impact. The similar initiative is being adopted by our organization Guru Ram Dass College of Education, offers teacher education programme. In the present paper as a researcher I would like to represent Green Practices which are being conducted in our campus and its significant contribution in attainment of Sustainable Development Goals and the most recent G20 with tag of One Earth, One family and One Future.

Green Practices in Campus in Higher Education Institutions
Green Practice is an overall drill that enhances environmental responsibility among society, starting from learners towards commitment to sustainable approaches such as pollution-free, waste management, water management, energy conservation, construction of green buildings, reduction in carbon footprints, etc. Nowadays, green chemists are focussed on the implementation of green research, green synthesis, green advancement, and green promotion. This chapter describes the significance of green practice-based activities in terms of awareness, operations, training, and applications in schools, colleges, and higher educational institutions, especially in Oman. A comparison of numerous success stories and case studies, that are renovating various institutions into green campuses, ECO houses, solar energy cells, water management, and hydrogen centers in India and in Oman is discussed. Green Campus initiatives, aligned with sustainable development goals, are largely being set up across the globe, and hence novel statistical techniques are to be introduced among students from time to time. A key role of educationalists is to enlighten, educate, and explore all possibilities to create positive responsiveness to the green economy among the learners’ community, especially from emerging to well-developed higher educational institutions.

Green Practices in Campus in Higher Education Institutions
Going green means to become more environmentally conscious and, more importantly, to implement certain changes in our lifestyle that minimizes the waste we produce. Being eco friendly has become very important in the present time as the environment we are living in is facing a crisis. It is very crucial to understand the reasons behind this present environmental crisis and find ways to overcome the same. To leave running water behind, to not turn off lights, to litter rubbish, etc. are some day-to-day activities that are not healthy for the environment. We should follow eco friendly practices as it saves energy, reduces waste produce and preserves the environment. Steps to go green should be taken at the grass-root level. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the various aspects of a green lifestyle and how the same can be implemented in the campus of higher education institutions. This purpose can be achieved by cultivating a green garden in the campus, promoting the use of reusable water bottles, going digital, using steel dishes instead of one time plates, purchasing products that do not harm the environment, arranging proper waste disposal, switching off electronic gadgets when not in use., giving incentives to follow rules that help maintain a green environment. The study is based on secondary sources of information.

The sampling method was convenient sampling from different level of education eco system. The sample of students, employees, administrators, corporates and parents has been taken. Questionnaire through Google forms are used for gathering the information.
Different parameters for green initiatives such as Adaptability from students, changes in educational practices by faculty members, regulatory framework, updates by administration and acceptance of digital and green initiatives by parents has been identified from different analysis. Moreover, corporate acceptability for such digital initiatives also analysed.
This research creates useful outcome for policy makers, administrators, teaching community and society at large for upgrading skills and talent through digital and green initiatives. Agricultural related community may get benefit from this research.
